Sandra Kastantin, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

B.S. Therapeutic Recreation, University of Connecticut
M.A. Speech-Language Pathology, University of Maryland

I am a veteran speech-language pathologist with experience in private pediatric clinics, early intervention, public school, and neuro-rehabilitation settings.  I hold a Massachusetts license in Speech-Language Pathology and am a member of the Massachusetts Speech and Hearing Association (MSHA).  I have been a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) since 2001 and have recently earned my third ASHA ACE award for going above and beyond continuing education requirements.

I began my career working with adults in rehabilitation after stroke and brain injury, focused on issues such as aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and executive functioning.  In 2012, while navigating challenges in the educational world with my own three kids, I was inspired to transition into the world of pediatric speech and language full time. I was fortunate to find some of the most wonderful mentors who guided me through this transition!  I grew in my use of PROMPT, Orton-Gillingham, and DIR-Floortime. Throughout this time, due to the professional needs of my husband, our family moved a few times. We have lived in and loved Maryland, Northern Virginia, and now Massachusetts! Each move carried with it heartfelt stories and minor challenges, but overall enabled unique perspective and variety of experience. Now, I want to share what I've learned!

I am passionate about helping kids gain new understanding, find their voice, and connect with their parents and families.  My mission is to provide each child and family with individualized, truly comprehensive care and to do it in a way that empowers parents.  Providing support in building communication routines is central to my practice.  It is still always a thrill to see the spark of communication ignite!
